Emma Watson honors Robbie Coltrane: ‘You made it a joy to be Hermione’

In the wake of the heart-wrenching video that saw actor Robbie Coltrane’s ex-wife publicly shame him on the Internet for several days, it’s easy to wonder what the future holds for him and his young daughters.
But with the recent news that the actress Emma Watson will be playing Hermione Granger in upcoming movie ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,’ it’s likely that Coltrane and the girls will eventually make their way to the new Harry Potter flick — and reunite with their mother.
In a video that was made available to the public (and to those who have followed the story of their tumultuous relationship), Watson addressed the tragedy caused by her ex-boyfriend, Robbie Coltrane, saying, “You made it a joy to be Hermione,” sharing the poignant moment where she was in tears.
“When I first auditioned for the part of Hermione, I was nervous but I was also excited,” Watson said. “I told Emma, ‘You don’t have to come to the audition if you don’t feel like it. You don’t have to feel nervous. Just go to the session and see what happens.’ And I did, and then we both just started crying. Because all you hear about is how you’re a really good actress and everyone wants to be your friend, but in the moment you are a complete wreck. And then you’ve got this other person in the room trying to console you, trying to get you to relax as best as they can. Emma, you just gave me the strength to hold onto what I love — that person I love, and that person who I’ve just had to let go of.”
