Serena Williams teases return to competitive tennis, says Tom Brady ‘started a really cool trend’
Serena Williams was in attendance at ‘The Match’ in London in the week leading up the Wimbledon Championships.
The tennis star has spoken to British newspaper about her hopes of returning to the tennis court.
Serena, 37, plays for the US Open and Wimbledon tennis teams between the two tournaments.
She is currently on hiatus due to injury after a second knee surgery in 2012.
Hollywood star Tom Cruise, 39, is the latest celebrity to add weight to the rumour that Serena is returning to the court, with the tennis star confirming to the New York Times that she has been training with the retired football star.

Cruise, an American, had knee surgery earlier this year and played a game of netball as a way of rehabbing his knee, the Times reports.
Williams, who is sponsored by Nike’s sneaker brand, has been in training with Tom Cruise for months and has been seen on the court at Wimbledon
‘I’m working out with him at Wimbledon and at The Match and we talk a lot,’ Williams said. ‘He is really, really, really good, very supportive. It’s really good to see him doing well again, just the physical part of it, but also mentally about the journey that he’s been on. It’s the same with me.
‘I have been to his apartment in LA and we are training hard. He’s got this amazing mentality, he’s super intelligent and super passionate. The guy who is going to be famous and probably even more famous than me. And just to see him doing that, it’s amazing and I love it. I’m having a great time. We talk and just bounce ideas off each other.
