Shonda Rhimes says fans of Grey’s Anatomy are making it hard on herself as she struggles to find a new lead.
She says everyone at ABC is telling her no matter what she does, she’ll never get a second season.
The Emmy winner says she has been contacted by a room of “a lot of old men” who have told her she’s a lame show and won’t watch it.
“I’ve been working so hard and these are old men,” says Rhimes, “old men in their 60’s or 70’s who say ‘nobody was gonna watch that!’”
“It’s very frustrating for me,” she added.
Rhimes is currently in the process of looking for a new lead.
During a recent interview, she says “I think I know everything [about Grey’s].”
“I think about the show when I’m not directing it because there are so many things that I miss about it,” she explains.
The Emmy winner is currently in the process of looking for a new lead.
“I’m going through auditions and a room of fans who just don’t know what to make of me now and say ‘We’re going to watch this, we’re not gonna watch,” says Rhimes.
“I feel like that’s what makes the show, how much they can hold onto your imagination.”
