Miss Argentina and Miss Puerto Rico reveal that they’re married at the age of 14. And, they’re now parents of 2 children.
Argentina’s top model, Maribel Gutiérrez is about to become a mum. The beauty queen and her husband, David Acevedo, have tied the knot. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony earlier this week in the Dominican Republic, at the home of the couple’s best friends.
Gutiérrez told Daily Mail Online that it all began when she went to a friend’s house for a get-together. Acevedo was with his other half.
“I was surprised. We didn’t talk about marriage at all,” Gutiérrez said, according to The Mirror.
“We discussed going out, so I decided to invite him to my sister’s house. But he wasn’t interested in talking to me about marriage. He just brushed me off.”
And this wasn’t just a conversation Gutiérrez had with Acevedo. Acevedo, who she met online, told her that he wanted kids.
“I was so excited, and I asked him if he was the one for me,” Gutiérrez said.
“It was really sweet. We talked for a long time. He told me that before I asked for his hand in marriage, he had talked to my mother about us. She told him I was too young to get married. So, he proposed to me.”
In the past few weeks, Gutiérrez has been engaged in a whirlwind romance involving a group of people who all knew each other. She moved from her hometown of San Miguel to Manila in order to make the trip to be there for the wedding.
Just before the wedding, Gutiérrez took off to meet Acevedo at an undisclosed location.
“I wanted to talk to him, and he agreed that we should be together,” Gutiérrez said. “I decided to have a wedding ceremony with him and my friends. It was just me, my friends, and my parents, my brother, and my parents.”
