Lana Del Rey and her brother-in-law, David LaChapelle, have just released their new album. We’ve got the exclusive first listen to “Love” – a title that’s got Lana Del Rey fans buzzing.
During an interview with Z100, the Grammy-winning singer discussed the making of the record, and revealed that she’s not worried about the theft.
David LaChapelle said he was with Lana when she heard the news that someone had stolen her laptop in Los Angeles.
She was “very, very upset” to learn that the laptop containing the unreleased music he recorded with his band had been stolen.
But Lana said, “David’s a friend. A business partner of mine. So I know what his side of the story is.”
Del Rey said when she heard about the stolen laptop, she told the people involved “You stole my music! Please don’t listen.”
The singer went on to explain that she had “more than a passing interest” in the unreleased music, but felt that the damage had been done.
“I think they’re going to get all angry again about this. I want to just put it to rest. I want to apologize that I ever did it.”
“This is not what I was going to do,” she added. “We didn’t know anyone was listening to this and then we found out.”
The news comes after a week in which Lana Del Rey’s new music received a lot of attention – and questions – as to exactly when she’s going to release her next release.
Del Rey shared a new video on Instagram from her tour bus, which is travelling through Germany and Belgium.
In the new clip, a fan asked, “Where’s the new album? … I’d so love an album!”
